“Start Your Own Corporation” Book Recommendation

As part of my ongoing Informal Education PhD degree from Non-Existent University, I'm currently listening to Start Your Own Corporation by Garrett Sutton.

I'd recommend it, and I'd highly encourage most any near millionaires (which definitely does not include me) to utilize LLC(s) and/or corporation(s) ASAP. (I purposefully didn't mention limited partnerships in that.)

It goes over the good entities (LLCs, corporations, limited partnerships) as well as topics related to them.

The bad entities are sole proprietorships and general partnerships (which is what essentially any entity is by default). IMO, general partnerships are significantly worse than sole proprietorships and should be heavily avoided.

If you are unable to spend time getting consulted on the various options, a Nevada or Wyoming LLC seems like your best bet.

The book of course recommends spending many hours getting properly consulted before doing anything. But if it's realistically between confirming that such an LLC is at least good enough or doing nothing, you're probably better off just confirming that than trying to find the perfect entity for your situation. Don't get paralysis by overanalysis.

Among other things, I think it showcases how there are so many different legal tactics someone could hypothetically use against a person who acted in an immoral or unethical manner, and it's impossible to cover all of them.

Many people would complain about that, but I think it's overall a good thing. I think the risk for acting in an immoral and unethical manner should ideally be as large as possible.
